Primark £5 Double Wear Dupe?: Review
Hello, I thought I would throw in a bonus post this week as I am living for make up this week! I recently purchased the £5 Primark matte foundation that is apparently an Estee Lauder Double Wear dupe. I personally don't rate double wear as I don't like a matte finish but if I am running out of my foundation then I will use it!
Skin Type: combination
My Skin is quite dry at them moment, which never ever happens so I have caked my face in Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser, before apply anything to my face as I don't want any dry patches. Here is my skin with NOTHING on what so ever, I have so many blemishes at the moment so full coverage is a must today!
I am using my usual primer which is the Laura Geller Spackle, If you havent tried this then seriously GET ON IT! It just makes your make up sit so smoothly on your face even if you have bumpy skin like me! I am going to be applying the foundation with an original damp beauty blender, If you don't have an original BB then I 100% recommend them. The next picture is my face with just the foundation on, no powder, no concealer nothing!
As you can hopefully see, there is a huge difference in the above and top picture all my blemishes are covered up, the shade is a perfect match to my skin (I am using the shade Ivory). The consistency is very thick and I had to use a lot more foundation than what I usually would! The only place it hasn't really taken good is under my eyes. However I struggle to find a foundation that does stick to my under eyes. The finish is very drying on my skin, I feel that if you have very oily skin then the finish will look amazing on you.
Well thats better with some eye brows right? Here is my finished look I will list the products I have used to finish up my look below. My overall rating of the foundation is 7.5/10, I think on an oily skin day this foundation is going to look amazing, however I am not really a matte finish gal! I feel like it makes my face look quite flat. The foundation it's self I would say is exactly the same as double wear just a lot thicker, but you need more product. I think if you are wanting to try double wear then buy this first to see if you like the consistency and finish! It does tend to cling to dry patches through out the day, and I do recommend still powdering as it does slide off as the day goes on.
I did notice when I "baked" my under eyes with my normal banana powder it didn't just dust away, it kind of just clinged to the foundation and wouldn't blend.
- Too Faced Sweet Heart Bronzer
- Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer
- Laura Geller Spackle Primer
- Maybelline Fit Me Powder 90
- ABH Brow Pomade Taupe
- Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
Thank you so much for reading, if you have tried this foundation then let me know what you thought of it in the comments below! If you have any Primark beauty requests you want me to try out then let me know!

I've got such bad skin lately that I have to be so careful with my foundations. I'm the same with a matte finish, it's not really for me. Think I shall be giving this one a miss! Thanks for sharing x
ReplyDeleteNo problem Hannah! I have oily skin but still prefer a more dewy finish! I recommend the maybelline fit me foundation, or Clinique Beyoncé perfecting x
