Miss Selfridge: Florals and Brights and Stripes (SS18)

by - March 11, 2018

Hello again and happy Sunday, sorry last weeks post was delayed. I just didn't feel inspired to write and didn't want to upload a crappy blog post! So this weeks post is going to be a fashion post and I have no idea how you lot will react as I never do fashion posts, but I work in retail and love fashion so I want to bring more fashion into my blog. This blog post is going to be my wish list and what I am loving from Miss Selfridge I hope you enjoy!

(Disclosure I do not own these photos)

I am loving the colour red at the moment,  you can dress it up and dress it down and both ways look totally stunning and sophisticated. Brights are everything this season so these trousers are perfect for spring/summer they can be styled up with a heel and a shirt or totally toned down with converse and a white T! These trousers are £35 and are the Petite Red Paperbag Trousers. Another plus is paperbag material is so comfortable you might as well be wearing your PJs, which is perfect for wearing on your summer holidays at night as they're not too thick but you can also still rock them all day long in colder climates (i.e. the UK as we hardly get "summer") These are also going to suit all skin types and body shapes, for me having a tiny waist is a nightmare but the tie belt at the front really helps me show off my little waist! The ruffle detailing is also going to draw attention away from your waist if it is not something you want to necessarily show off, we all have our insecurities right? I feel like these are going to cut off just at the right height for us petite girlies too! to give us the illusion of a longer leg! (I wish)

You cannot beat a plain white T am I right? They go with absolutely anything and look so effortless, however look at this beauty. This would go perfect with a pair of jeans, denim skirt and oh my gosh imagine this with the Paperbag red trousers above (YUM)! I understand this wont be everyones cup of tea as Baby Girl in massive font on the back of a white T is quite the statement but you can always throw on a denim jack over the top or even a biker jacket to hide the back and whip it off when you're feeling bold! This is the White Baby Girl Slogan T-Shirt and is £14 which isn't too bad for a slogan T! The only down fall to this item is that it only comes in Small, Medium or large which could be a little tricky for you girls (or guys) out there that are smaller than a small, and larger than a large. This would be perfect for summer BBQ's where you don't want to over dress, or just thrown on with a pair of jeans to run errands and still make a statement with your outfit! If you have tanned skin then this is going to make your skin POP both the white and red will compliment you massively!

Now this is going to either be a WOW or a is that your nans jumpsuit? I think I would need to try this on my self to see how it actually looked on a normal person, and not a 6ft model, as I am 4ft 11 and this strong pattern could totally drown me. This is the Black Arabella Jumpsuit and is available in sizes 4 to 16, and is £45 is that a little pricey? I can see this being paired with either trainers to dress it right down or with a nice sandal. This is going to look good no matter what skin tone you have the model is quite fair and looks amazing in it! Also all body shapes, the tie belt will help singe you in at the waist and the flared sleeves is going to give the illusion of slimmer arms! However much I think I love this, looking up close on the picture it does look quite see through which I hate, so that could cause a problem, especially for £45! The back has a lovely circle cut out in the back which really helps break up the pattern. I have such a flat chest, my only concern with this is that it is going to make me look even flatter with the V neck being so low!

If you know me, you'll know I love me a stripe. That can be stripy trousers, skirts, tops and shorts you name it I probably own 12! I am loving these stripy shirts at the moment, not tied low like the model but tied up higher almost cropped with a crop underneath. You could pair this with absolutely anything I can really imagine it with a blue denim skirt or with jeans like on the model! This is the Red Striped Shirt and is £25, like all miss Selfridge clothing it comes size 4 to 16! The best thing about striped shirts is they're timeless, stripes are always on trend every SS. This is going to be perfect for all weather conditions as you can through on a jacket over the top, button it all the way up, un buttoned or tie up high with a nice crop underneath to give off a move relaxed/modern vibe! It does not look see through on the images and for the price I should hope not! the only thing that slightly puts me off is the cuff on the wrist but I can live with this! It has a drawstring along the bottom which will really help you show off your waist, or you could wear it baggy!

Thank you so much for reading and let me know what you thought of my very first fashion post!!! If you want more fashion related posts/want another post like this one then let me know!
